Emtec limited warranty Policy

 

1 - Warranty condition

 

Dexxon guarantees that every Emtec product is free from physical defects in material and workmanship. Under normal operating condition, Emtec is committing, in its sole discretion, to replace (or repair (1)) the defective product. Emtec decision, to replace with new product (or refurbish one) with equivalent functionalities will be final.

Emtec guarantee does not apply if the product suffers damages caused by an accident, misuse, modification or any reparation done without Emtec agreement. Emtec products should be used with material meeting the standards of the computer industry.

The warranty for any Emtec product applies only to the original consumer purchaser and to no other purchaser or transferee. Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale, invoice or sales receipt which is evidence that the unit is within the warranty period must be presented to obtain warranty service.

3 - Warranty application

 

To obtain warranty, you must return the defective product to the reseller or dealer where you bought it or to the Emtec service center (1).

Before sending the product, please check the return conditions with your reseller or the service center.

If you are not able to return the defective product to the reseller or Emtec distribution partner where you bought the product, we invite you to contact the Emtec assistance.

Emtec website is showing the coordinates of Emtec assistance in order to obtain the return agreement for the defective product.

Any return of defective product without Emtec return agreement will be refused. (return at the consumer expenses)

Return products become the Emtec property. The replaced or repaired product will be shipped directly or undirectly at Emtec expenses, and will enjoy the rest of the guarantee which started from the date of invoice of the original product.

 

4 - Guarantee exclusion

 

  • The cosmetic damages as scuff, scratch, scale, crack not detrimental to the proper functioning of the device
  • The malfunction is the result from intentional damage or negligence.
  • The malfunction results from negligence or abnormal use of the product by parties other than Emtec, including, but not limited to: the installation, storage and/or the use of the product in an inappropriate environment.
  • If the Emtec serial number on the product has been removed or defaced
  • The malfunction is the result of repairs that were not carried out by a certified Emtec service provider.
  • The malfunction is the result of a lack of maintenance or cleaning of the unit
  • Any loss, corruption or destruction of data while using a Emtec rive is the sole responsibility of the user, and under no circumstances will Emtec be held liable for the recovery or restoration of this data
  • Emtec is not responsible for damage arising from failure to follow instructions relating to the product’s use
  • The malfunction is the result of force majeure (fire, lightning, storm…) or electrical surges
  • replacing the batteries, remote controls, accessories, cables...

 

5 - Customer Warning

 

All third party software provided with the emtec products are excluded from any warranty

Emtec will in no way be held responsible, under any circumstances at all, for in direct, consequential or accessory damages, or for the loss of data

A software update is not a product repair. However it can improve the product functionalities. Consequently, it is highly recommended and will not enter in the “product failure” category.

(2) Emtec technician will examine each return product, and, only at its own discretion, determine the status of the product,(DOA or other product failure) and will proceed to repair or replace it.

(2) The term of “dead on arrival”(DOA) will be applied only on product which would need specific component to be replaced or repaired, which means the product has a manufacturing defect. These products will have to be returned within 10 days after acquisition.
